The Visidyne remote ADC removes bulky and field sensitive ADC electronics from the sensor environment. By means of a 1.2 cm3 E/O transducer, an electrical signal can be carried out of a small volume via fiber optics with no degradation to the signal during transport.  The electronics used to digitize the signal can be placed in a remote location where the user finds it convenient.  This approach has the further advantage of reducing the thermal load in the immediate vicinity of the sensor.
